Chevrolet Celebrates 100 Years of Trucks

A 100-year anniversary is definitely something to observe. Chevy’s 100 Years of Trucks celebration commemorates a milestone that sets them apart from almost every other automaker in the industry. In addition to a couple of special edition models, the  “100 Years of Trucks” celebration takes a look back at some of the brand’s most iconic designs.

The 1918 One-Ton is the production truck that started it all. In the simplest example of form follows function, the truck was a rolling chassis with an open cab and open frame. Powered by a four-cylinder engine, the truck was capable of completing almost any job. The iconic dark blue bowtie bears an air of sophistication even to this day.

Much like its earliest ancestor, the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 bears a powerful identity. Signature front and rear ends and muscular wheel flares uphold the brand’s “tough truck” look. Influenced by aerodynamics, the 2007 pickup has a lot in common with the 1918 One-Ton when it comes to capability.

The new 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 features a striking style while still maintaining the form-follows-function design. A capable truck from start to finish, the latest model can handle practically everything thanks to its available 12,500 pounds maximum towing capacity.

Here at Tom Naquin Chevrolet, we’re proud to be a part of the “100 Years of Trucks” celebration.
