Chevrolet Bolt EV Named North American Car of the Year Finalist

Since its introduction earlier this year, the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV has been electrifying the automotive industry. Not only is this electric vehicle extremely energy-efficient, but it also comes at a low price. Because of this, it comes as no surprise that it has been named a North American Car of the Year finalist.

In order to win the coveted North American Car of the Year title, the Bolt must show its superiority in design, innovative technologies, safety, performance, value, and driver satisfaction. Currently, this electric vehicle is one of the most inexpensive options in the automotive industry.

With an impressive EPA-estimated 238 miles of range and an MSRP of $37,495, there’s no doubt that this EV stands out from the rest of its competition. Add the fact that it is currently leading the Chevrolet 2017 model lineup with five awards, and it really wouldn’t be a surprise if the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV didn’t come out on top again.

The Bolt will be facing two competitors in the final round for the North American Car of the Year award—the Genesis G90 and Volvo S90. This isn’t the first time the Bolt has faced these foes, though; it also took on the G90 and S90 for Motor Trend’s Car of the Year award, which it won.

The winner of the North American Car of the Year award will be announced on January 9th during the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
