Road Trip Tips

Spring has finally arrived, which means now is the time to take, or at least start preparing for, a family road trip! There’s a lot to do before you head out on a road trip, no matter how long it may be. Whether it’s your first or five-hundredth getaway, some things just have to be taken care of. Here are some help road trip tips from us here at Tom Naquin Chevrolet. Hit the road and enjoy the wonderful weather.

  • Plan Carefully – While it always helps to have a plan before hitting the road, committing solely to that plan could cause problems. A single delay can throw a road trip that’s too tightly knit off schedule. Make a plan prior to leave, but be sure to allow for any delays.
  • Come Prepared – It pays to have all of your documents in your car when you take a road trip. Make sure to include your license, registration, and proof of insurance. Having just a few documents can get you out of some tight spots if you get pulled over.
  • Clean Up – There’s little doubt your vehicle will be a mess after returning home. While there isn’t much you can do about that, you can minimize the trash, dirt, and grime by cleaning your car inside and out before hitting the road.

First Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE Sells for $250,000

The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE is a track-ready monster of a muscle car that isn’t yet available on the public market, but the first model has already been sold. The first-ever Camaro ZL1 1LE went up for sale at a Barret-Jackson auction and sold to the tune of $250,000. This isn’t the first time the buyer has made such a large purchase either.

The buyer, Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports, dropped a quarter-million on the most track-oriented Camaro to date without blinking. His past purchases include the first-ever Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, which went for $825,000.

Under the hood of the new Camaro ZL1 1LE sits a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that delivers a massive 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque for a perfectly-tuned 1:1 ratio. Drivers will also enjoy Brembo brakes, track-oriented tires, a carbon fiber rear wing, and more.

Like all first-ever production models of General Motors vehicles, the money went to a good cause. The United Way charity received all proceeds from the auction. The charitable organizations works to help communities through partnerships with schools and banks.

The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE officially hits the market later this year. Here at Tom Naquin Chevrolet, we’re happy to see the first-ever Camaro ZL1 1LE helping a great cause and going to a great owner in one fell swoop!
