GM Authority reports that Chevrolet is teasing the new Niva SUV before it makes its debut in a couple weeks at the 2014 Moscow Auto Salon with this photo.
The current Chevy Niva is a collaborative effort between General Motors and Russian automaker AvtoVAZ. It features a contemporary body, which surrounds the old underpinnings of the original AvtoVAZ Lada Niva. This new image, though, hints at the possibility of a more modern SUV that could be arriving in 2016.
“The design of the new car will be much closer to our new line of Chevrolet models,” said AvtoVAZ general director Jeffrey Glover. “At the same time, the concept’s tougher appearance and characteristics suggest that it will continue to be a ‘real’ [AvtoVAZ] Niva.” The engine is also expected to be updated from an 80-horsepower, 1.7-liter four-cylinder to a 135-horsepower, 1.8-liter four-cylinder.
No word yet on whether an export version for those of us here in the U.S. is being considered, but if the mini SUV does make its way across the ocean, you will be able to check it out here at Tom Naquin Chevrolet.
Green Car Reports is confirming that the revised 2016 Chevy Volt range-extended electric car will be unveiled to the public on January 17, 2015 at the Detroit Auto Show.
So far, GM has only released a teaser photo of the new model, which shows only a close-up of the vehicle’s rear, focusing on its smooth, rounded liftgate and attractive logo.
Over 65,000 Volts have been sold since the car was released in December of 2010, which makes it the highest-selling plug-in electric car in the United States. Collectively, all of those customers have driven their Volts more than half a billion miles on pure grid electricity. According to Chevy, by recharging regularly, Volt owners can travel 1,000 miles between fill-ups, visiting gas stations less than once a month.
That is saving consumers a lot of money at the pump while also saving the environment. It has also brought more people into the Chevy family: over 70% of Volt owners are new to the Chevrolet brand, and more than 90% of them have stated that they would buy another Volt.
If you would like to join the tens of thousands of satisfied Volt owners who are new to Chevy, stop by to test drive a Volt or any other model at Tom Naquin Chevrolet.
Here at Tom Naquin Chevrolet, we were pretty bummed out when the USMNT lost their Round of 16 match against Belgium. However, thanks to Chevrolet, we now have a soccer team to root for once again. The Chevrolet name and bowtie logo both appear front and center on the new Manchester United shirt which the team will wear during the 2014-15 season.
“Manchester United has more than 659 million supporters around the world, and we want them to know that we march side by side with them,” said Tim Mahoney, chief marketing officer, Global Chevrolet. “We wanted to celebrate this new shirt with Manchester United supporters in an historic way because they deserve to be part of this important moment in club history.”
Modern technology is amazing; you can go to www.chevroletfc.com right now to take a picture of you wearing a digital version of the new shirt, then post that picture all over your favorite social media sites. Plus, the website also features a new video that celebrates the history of Manchester United’s iconic jersey. Check all the soccer-related stuff out on the website today.
