In preparation for the upcoming 2013 SEMA Show, Chevrolet has previewed some of its performance-oriented concepts that will be on display when the show begins November 5th. The SEMA Show is the world’s largest convention of automotive aftermarket parts and accessories. It takes place in Las Vegas from November 5th through November 8th.
Some of the vehicles that Chevrolet recently previewed include the Sonic, all-new Impala, and a personalized version of the Malibu. These concepts feature accessories that allow for personalization, but still maintain the vehicle’s excellent ride characteristics. While some of these accessories are available from Chevrolet dealers, others are still being evaluated for production.
Leading the way for Chevrolet at the 2013 SEMA Show will be two “super” Sonics, which feature enhanced 1.4-liter turbo engines, suspension, exterior and interior accessories, and custom color-and-graphic packages.

The 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is fast – really fast. And we’re not just talking about in a straight line. Chevrolet recently released video of the Camaro Z/28 doing a lap on Germany’s Nürburgring road course in a time of 7:37.40, a time comparable to some other very notable sports cars such as the Porsche 911 Carrera S and the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640.
The Z/28’s lap time is four seconds faster than the Camaro ZL1, and it accomplished this feat in rainy conditions (even pouring rain at one point).
“One of the challenges of testing at the ‘Ring is that the track is so long that conditions can change radically in a single lap,” said Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer, in a press release. “Adam Dean, the development driver for Z/28, did a heroic job driving in deteriorating conditions. Based on telemetry data from our test sessions, we know the Z/28 can be as much as six seconds faster on a dry track.”

Any guesses on how many highway miles per gallon the 2014 Corvette Stingray gets? If you guessed in the neighborhood of 28 or 29, then you are correct. Tom Naquin Chevrolet is excited to announce that the EPA recently released its mpg estimates for the 2014 Stingray, and the numbers might be surprising to some.
First, the EPA rated the seven-speed manual version of the 2014 Corvette Stingray and rated it at an estimated 17 mpg city and 29 mpg highway. Off to a good start, especially considering the vehicle’s powerful 6.2-liter V8 engine with 455-horsepower.
The six-speed paddleshift automatic transmission version of the 2014 Stingray rated almost as highly in terms of mpg. The EPA estimates that the automatic version will get 16 mpg city and 28 mpg highway. This is good news when you consider that the automatic version is the one most buyers are choosing.
Considering the mpg of both versions of the 2014 Corvette Stingray, which one would you choose?
Tom Naquin Chevrolet is excited to announce that the 2015 Silverado was recently unveiled in Texas. Available in three different trims, the 2015 Silverado is set to go on sale starting during the first quarter of next year.
As is the case with most heavy-duty trucks, power and towing are the main focus. The standard engine on the 2015 Silverado is a Vortec 6.0-liter V8 that generates 360 horsepower in the 2500HD trim and 322 horsepower in the 3500HD trim. Both trims have engines that generate 380 lb-ft of torque. Maximum towing is provided by the 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel V8, which generates 397 horsepower and 765 lb-ft of torque.
As far as towing capacity goes, the 2015 Silverado has a conventional trailer towing capacity of 19,600 pounds and a maximum payload of 7,374 pounds.
The 2015 Silverado has a variety of standard features, offers two cargo bed lengths, and the choice of single- or dual-rear wheels on the 3500HD trim.
