The Saturn Redline edition models were high-performance versions of popular vehicles designed to appeal to the speed demon in us all. While Saturn is long gone, Chevrolet is reviving the Redline name in a big way. Originally debuted at the 2015 SEMA Show, Chevrolet’s Redline special-edition trims are returning to the market to feed the demon.
The new Chevrolet Redline Special-Editions
The Redline package will re-enter production and be available on a total of nine vehicles by the end of 2017. The package will include black wheels with red hashes, black nameplates with a red outline, and black grilles. Specific vehicles will see their own unique styling touches as well.
The Chevrolet Camaro Redline, for example, will feature the red hash marks above the wheels as a nod to Chevrolet’s history in motorsports. Both trucks, the Colorado and Silverado 1500, will feature red tow hooks.
Other vehicles that will see the available Redline package include the Malibu, Trax, Traverse Premier, Equinox, and Cruze hatchback and sedan. The first model to hit the market will be the Silverado. Potential consumers can inquire about ordering a Silverado Redline of their own by contacting a certified dealership.
We here at Tom Naquin Chevrolet are excited to see the Redline special edition models roll out throughout the year!
It looks like you might be seeing the Chevrolet Volt name up in lights sometime soon. Chevrolet recently announced that the all-new 2016 Chevrolet Volt will be making its debut in the new Disney film Tomorrowland. The film, which takes place against the backdrop of the present day and Tomorrowland, will debut in the United States on May 22.

“Tomorrowland is a place where nothing is impossible, which is something that Chevrolet believes can exist in the here and now,” said Tim Mahoney, vice president of Global Chevrolet. “The Chevrolet spirit reflects the hopes and possibilities of tomorrow in real instruments of change for today like the next-generation Chevrolet Volt.”
The Chevrolet Volt movie debut isn’t the only time Chevrolet and Disney have partnered together—they’ve also partnered in December 2012 for the re-imagined Test Track at Epcot, which highlighted the automotive design process. Marketing for both Tomorrowland and the 2016 Chevrolet Volt will debut in early May. Until then, don’t forget to check back to Tom Naquin Chevrolet for more information on this innovative, next-generation electric car.
Ready your fire hoses. Come April, sparks will fly. Chevy just released a teaser photo, showing more mature and sleeker body, confirming that the redesigned 2016 Chevrolet Spark will debut both at the New York International Auto Show and the Seoul Auto Show simultaneously in April.
Redesigned 2016 Chevrolet Spark
2015 Chevy Spark
The sub-compact hatchback from Chevrolet has undergone a redesign, having been six years since the world saw any significant change in its look. What should we expect in this new generation of the Spark? Chevrolet has gone on the record to say that the new Spark possesses a “more sophisticated aesthetic that reflects the changing tastes of the global minicar market.”
For those who dig the essence of the Spark, do not fret. Michael Simcoe, GM International vice president of design, soothed any concerns by affirming that the Spark’s “youthful whimsy” was left intact. Only, this youthfulness has “evolved and grownup with the segment.”
It’s the new-to-the-American-showrooms, subcompact SUV – introducing the Chevy Trax. Already released to the Mexican and Canadian markets, the crossover is dubbed a “Smart Urban Vehicle,” by its manufacturer.

The smaller packaged crossover is built on the Chevy Sonic platform just like its Buick Encore counterpart. The Trax is 11.4 inches shorter than the Toyota RAV4 and powered by a 1.4-liter turbo four-cylinder engine. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic that delivers 138 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque. Zooming from 0-60 in 9.5 seconds, this nimble nymph with 26/34 mpg city/highway mileage and well-balanced steering is sure to zip through highway and byway traffic and snap those pesky parking spots in a cinch.
The exterior of this mini sport utility boasts flared fenders, a furrowed hood, and the golden bowtie emblem to adorn the chrome-trimmed two-part grille. The interior offers seating for five with ample storage space with its 60/40-split configuration and plenty of stowage nooks!

20,000 units sold in just one month. What sales will the new 2016 Equinox bring?
Chevrolet Equinox sales continued to soar with nearly 20,000 models going into the hands of lucky new owners in January alone.
This marked a 34 percent increase over the same period last year and the best January performance ever for the compact SUV. This is a great start to 2015 for the Equinox, which is just coming off a fifth consecutive year of record sales and is now the second-best selling vehicle in our lineup at Tom Naquin Chevrolet.
“The Equinox continues to win customers with its value-driven balance of performance, versatility and personal connectivity,” said GM North America President, Alan Batey. “It also represents the depth of Chevrolet’s strong SUV lineup, ranging from the all-new Trax small SUV and Traverse to the redesigned 2015 Suburban and Tahoe.”
Updated 2016 Equinox
To help it stay at the top, Chevy has introducing an updated 2016 Equinox at the Chicago Auto Show. You can research specs and see a gallery of photos at The News Wheel, or stop in to Tom Naquin Chevrolet later this year to check it out for yourself.
The engineers at Chevrolet never cease to amaze those of us at Tom Naquin Chevy. Recently, the team developed a more user-friendly charging method for the Volt, making it one of the most efficient hybrids on the market.
Chevy Volt Charging System – Faster than ever
Chevy Volt Charging System
What makes the Chevy Volt Charging System so great? For starters, the next-generation charging system makes refilling faster than ever. According to Chevy, more than 80% of all trips in a Volt do not use the range extender. That means drivers are relying on the bigger, more efficient batteries more than ever.
“Chevrolet used the real-world experiences of today’s Volt owners to make the charging process simpler and more convenient in the next-generation Volt,” said Andrew Farah, chief engineer for the Volt. “The new Volt will give owners greater flexibility for charging it on their terms.”

Other fresh features include GPS location-based charging, intuitive charge status indicators, and portable cord set enhancements. All of these are designed to make driving a little easier on your wallet, and designed to make driving a hybrid more accessible than ever.

2015 Chevrolet Equinox
While many all-new models get a surge in sales when they are first introduced, that surge is still going for the Chevrolet Equinox even after five years. First introduced in 2009 as a 2010 model, each year the Chevrolet Equinox sales keep growing.
“What gives a vehicle staying power is trust,” said Jessica Caldwell, an analyst with the car-shopping website Edmunds.com, in a statement. “Vehicles that are top sellers despite their age are nameplates that car shoppers can trust to have good quality, durability and reliability. They aren’t designed with the latest fad in mind – they are vehicles that are tested over time and have proven to be good products.”
In its first year, 2009, Chevrolet sold 86,148 small Equinox SUVs. Then, in 2010, that number exploded to 149,979 and has kept growing since.
2015 Chevy Equinox Interior
Just in July, more than 25,300 customers purchased a new Equinox, a 37 percent increase over 2013 sales. Even more impressive is the fact that many Equinox customers, 27 percent, are coming back for seconds and trading in their first one for a second.

The famous Corvette crossed-flags badge
If you enjoy performance driving, then you will like the latest news from Chevrolet. The automaker has announced that the 2015 Chevy Corvette Stingray will offer a brand-new eight-speed automatic transmission that will be designed specifically for performance driving.
(The 2014 model recently won the North American Car of the Year!)
Bill Goodrich, an assistant chief engineer for automatic transmissions at General Motors, says, “It was designed to enhance the Stingray’s driving experience, with performance on par with dual-clutch designs, but without sacrificing refinement.”
The new eight-speed automatic is designed to be paired with the Stingray’s 6.2-liter V8 engine. Chevrolet predicts a 5% increase in fuel economy with the new transmission, as it is eight pounds lighter than the six-speed transmission it replaces.
Offering paddle shifters and full manual control over gear changes, the eight-speed automatic should be able to complete wide-open-throttle upshifts up to 8/100ths of a second quicker than the new Porsche 911 Carrera’s gearbox.
While you eagerly await the new 2015 Chevy Corvette Stingray and its eight-speed transmission, why not stop by Tom Naquin Chevrolet today to test drive the six-speed version?
Pricing for the 2014 Chevy Sonic
Since the 2014 Chevy Sonic, which is now available at Tom Naquin Chevrolet, did not receive very many updates, General Motors decided to keep the pricing for both this year’s hatchback and sedan the same. The sedan has a base model price that starts at $14,995 and the hatchback version has a starting MSRP of $15,995. There is also a destination charge of $825, which is included in both prices.
As with most vehicles, the 2014 Sonic has all kinds of optional extras, including a promotional package that includes a power sunroof, fog lamps, and Chevy’s MyLink system. There is also a safety package that can be added that includes lane departure warning and forward collision alert.
The three new interior colors for the Sonic include Ashen Gray Metallic, Cool Blue, and Red Hot.

Any guesses on how many highway miles per gallon the 2014 Corvette Stingray gets? If you guessed in the neighborhood of 28 or 29, then you are correct. Tom Naquin Chevrolet is excited to announce that the EPA recently released its mpg estimates for the 2014 Stingray, and the numbers might be surprising to some.
First, the EPA rated the seven-speed manual version of the 2014 Corvette Stingray and rated it at an estimated 17 mpg city and 29 mpg highway. Off to a good start, especially considering the vehicle’s powerful 6.2-liter V8 engine with 455-horsepower.
The six-speed paddleshift automatic transmission version of the 2014 Stingray rated almost as highly in terms of mpg. The EPA estimates that the automatic version will get 16 mpg city and 28 mpg highway. This is good news when you consider that the automatic version is the one most buyers are choosing.
Considering the mpg of both versions of the 2014 Corvette Stingray, which one would you choose?
