Refreshed Camaro Coming in 2019

For the 2019 model year, we have learned that Chevrolet is planning on a refreshed Camaro, according to CarBuzz.com writer Jay Traugott. The current generation Camaro was just unveiled for the 2016 model year, but the automotive industry is always on the move. Since the current generation is only a few years old, the 2019 updates won’t be too major.

For starters, we can expect some visual changes on the front and rear ends without altering the Camaro’s dimensions. This means that there will likely be a new grille and new lights in the front and back. There will also potentially be minor modifications to the interior as well.

Another update Camaro fans should expect is a new lineup of trim options. Many industry experts believe that Chevrolet will introduce a new base model to make the Camaro more affordable. This could also mean a shuffling of features across the lineup.

One update that is very nearly guaranteed is the promise of more power from the Camaro SS. Currently, the 2018 model’s V8 engine delivers 460 horsepower. This output could peak at or around 470 ponies for 2019. Another powertrain possibility is the addition of a new 10-speed automatic transmission.

Here at Tom Naquin Chevrolet, we are always excited by Camaro news. What updates would you like to see for 2019?

Chevy Hints at Introducing V8 Engines to Lower Trim Camaros

The Chevy Camaro won’t be muscled out of its peak position in the muscle car market. Chevrolet is looking to add numerous technologies and advanced engineering features to increase sales of the iconic Chevy Camaro and take over the top spot from the Ford Mustang.

The coolest way they’re proceeding with this pony car push? By bringing high-power V8 engines to lower trim Camaros.

This move will make higher performance available at a lower price point to box out the high-dollar Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger, two competitors that only promise V8s at their more expensive and elevated trim levels. Currently, the Chevy Camaro is second in sales to the Mustang, with the Challenger in third place.

Buyers of muscle cars tend to be automotive enthusiasts, meaning that these are the people who are looking for the potent thrill of a V8 engine. Making V8 engines more accessible to true lovers of all things “under the hood” by adding them to the lower trim Camaros is a brilliant tactical move on Chevrolet’s part.

Do you fall into the category of “automotive enthusiast?” At Tom Naquin Chevrolet, we are fully stocked with a wide variety of Chevrolet Camaros. No matter what color, what trim, or what performance options you’re looking for, we can help you find it at Tom Naquin.

First Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE Sells for $250,000

The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE is a track-ready monster of a muscle car that isn’t yet available on the public market, but the first model has already been sold. The first-ever Camaro ZL1 1LE went up for sale at a Barret-Jackson auction and sold to the tune of $250,000. This isn’t the first time the buyer has made such a large purchase either.

The buyer, Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports, dropped a quarter-million on the most track-oriented Camaro to date without blinking. His past purchases include the first-ever Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, which went for $825,000.

Under the hood of the new Camaro ZL1 1LE sits a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that delivers a massive 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque for a perfectly-tuned 1:1 ratio. Drivers will also enjoy Brembo brakes, track-oriented tires, a carbon fiber rear wing, and more.

Like all first-ever production models of General Motors vehicles, the money went to a good cause. The United Way charity received all proceeds from the auction. The charitable organizations works to help communities through partnerships with schools and banks.

The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE officially hits the market later this year. Here at Tom Naquin Chevrolet, we’re happy to see the first-ever Camaro ZL1 1LE helping a great cause and going to a great owner in one fell swoop!

New Chevrolet Camaro Race Car

Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R

The Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R

Chevrolet is always on the hunt for ways to one-up the competition and the latest Camaro track model could do just that. The new Chevrolet Camaro race car is based on the ZL1 1LE production muscle car, with a few upgrades. Racing fans, take your seats and start your engines; it’s about to be a crazy year on the track.

The Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R boasts a 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine paired with a 6-speed transmission complete with paddle shifters. The transmission also boasts built-in traction control to avoid hitting the wall.

The new race car took to a wind tunnel to optimize aerodynamics to cut down on as much drag as possible. The end result is the addition of a new front splitter, dive planes, and rear wind to better cut through the air. Of course, no race car is complete without a bunch of ladder-topping equipment. The new Camaro GT4.R boasts Öhlins coilovers and Brembo brakes that optimize handling and traction.

While the teaser image doesn’t show off the race car’s interior, expect something similar to existing models. A stripped down interior and plenty of safety features are more than likely all that the cockpit brings to the track.

We here at Tom Naquin Chevrolet are pumped to see how well the new Camaro race car does on the track!

Even More Speed In The Camaro

The all-new Camaro is the fastest one yet! The Camaro ZL1 will light the track on fire (not literally) at the next road races.

The ZL1 has plenty of power, starting with its 10-speed automatic transmission; it makes the race smoother than ever. The ZL1 was tested at Germany’s Automotive Testing Papenburg GmBH proving ground. A proving ground is exactly what it sounds like – it makes the car prove what it can do. The ZL1 certainly proved its power by peeling around the track at 202.3 mph in one direction and 193.3 mph in the other. That brings the Camaro ZL1’s official top speed to a jaw-dropping 198 mph.

“The ZL1 was developed with high-speed performance in mind, incorporating a balanced aerodynamic package that reduces lift without significantly affecting drag,” said Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer.

The Camaro ZL1 is sure to prove its innovation on the racetrack. The coupe shoots from 0 to 60 in just 3.5 seconds and can even brake from 60 to 0 in 107 feet. That’s pretty impressive! Its engine delivers an unbeatable 650 horsepower and has top technology like Magnetic Ride Control and electronic limited-slip differential as well.

Keep your eyes peeled for the lightning-fast Camaro ZL1… if you blink you might miss it! Come see a Chevrolet Camaro for yourself at Tom Naquin in Elkhart, IN today!

Chevrolet Celebrates Camaro’s Birthday with 50th Anniversary Edition Camaro

50th Anniversary Edition Camaro

Chevy celebrated the Camaro’s 50th birthday on March 8th with an anticipated special-edition model, called the 50th Anniversary Edition Camaro.

A lot of automakers have been celebrating their anniversaries lately. Chevy joined by celebrating the Camaro’s 50th birthday on March 8th with an anticipated special-edition model, called the 50th Anniversary Edition Camaro.

You can get this commemorative Camaro as a coupe or a convertible. The model features nightfall gray metallic paint accented by an orange and black stripe that runs down the hood and down the trunk lid. A model-specific “Fifty” emblem is featured on both front fenders. This edition comes standard with the RS package that include HID headlights, LED tail lamps, and a trunk-mounted spoiler.

The interior looks promising, too, with black leather upholstery with orange contrast stitching on the seats and dashboard. Plus, the “50th Anniversary” badge is featured on the instrument panel, seatbacks, and steering wheel. Illuminated door sills make this Camaro extra-special.

The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro 50th Anniversary Edition will be offered in two trim levels called the 2LT and the 2SS when it goes on sale this summer. Now you definitely have something to look forward to!

Chevrolet Expected to Unveil Camaro ZL1 Convertible

Camaro ZL1 Convertible

Now that its availability has been confirmed, the luxurious Chevy Camaro ZL1 convertible is a vehicle that enthusiasts can’t wait to see.

The new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro has been causing quite a stir lately after the release of the iconic sports car’s new generation, which is lighter, faster, and more powerful than ever before. Now, following the reveal of the Camaro’s range-topping ZL1 trim, industry experts have confirmed that the ZL1 trim level will be available for both Hardtop and Convertible models. Enthusiasts are clamoring for a look at the luxurious Chevy Camaro ZL1 convertible.

The previous generation of the Camaro debuted the ZL1 model back in 2012, and the variant came with a 580-HP supercharged V8 engine and a standard Magnetic Ride Control suspension, as well as a number of small updates that, when put together, amounted to an overall smoother ride and drastically superior performance. Experts have high hopes for the ZL1 trim on the 2016 Camaro, though no information is available yet. To combine something like the Camaro ZL1 with a convertible top is a winning formula of both power and luxury.

The higher trim level of the Chevy Camaro is expected to make an appearance at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, though no one is sure if the Camaro ZL1 Convertible is yet to accompany its hardtop brother at the event. Whenever it decides to reveal itself, the industry will be watching in rapt attention.

New 2016 Camaro Technology Shines

New 2016 Camaro technology will allow drivers to tailor their ride to suit… their ride. Whether you’re cruising around town, taking a trip across the country, or revving it up on the track, the 2016 Camaro driver settings will allow you to do so with ease.

2016 Camaro technology

Drivers can choose between 3-4 optimized modes on the new Drive Mode Selector in order to fit the exact conditions in which they are driving. Driving modes include Snow/Ice, Tour, and Sport. A Track setting is also available on SS models. Other enhanced performance features include the dual-mode exhaust system.

Aaron Link, lead development engineer of the Camaro, said, “The new Camaro will be even more adaptable, with up to eight vehicle attributes adjusted to fit a driver’s preference.”

The all-new Camaro will be launched on May 16th, and we’re excited to see all the changes! Stay tuned to our blog and we’ll let you know when the 2016 Camaro arrives here at Tom Naquin Chevrolet.

Fifth-Gen Chevy Camaro Sales to Pass 500k This Month

2015 Chevy Camaro: Fifth-Gen Chevy Camaro SalesChevrolet is about to pass a benchmark that few automakers get to celebrate; this month, Chevy is expected to sell their 500,000th fifth-gen Camaro this month, a true testament to the model’s long-term popularity and reliability.

And, of course, Chevrolet is using the opportunity to tease fans about the sixth-gen Camaro, with a brief video of the six-gen model still in camouflage, at the end of this celebratory viral video on their YouTube page.

Fifth-Gen Chevy Camaro Sales

It’s no surprise that the fifth-gen Camaro is hitting this milestone, as sales for the vehicle rose 7.1 percent last year alone. In fact, since it went on sale in August of 2009, the Camaro has been the best-selling performance car in the United States.

It’s only been 2015 for two full months, but Camaro sales are already up 3.6 percent, compared to the same period in 2014.

What do you think of these incredible fifth-gen Chevy Camaro sales? Let us know in the comments.

Next-Generation Camaro Glimpsed at Detroit Auto Show

2015 Chevy Camaro | What will the next-generation Camaro bring?

Here at Tom Naquin Chevrolet, we were secretly hoping a prototype of the next-generation Camaro would crop up at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month. Instead, the totally awesome Chevrolet Bolt EV Concept stole the show, and we loved it. But we also got a glimpse of the new Camaro as well, if only in silhouette form—we think.

Next-Generation Camaro

The Chevrolet brand revealed a glimpse of five new models that will be released this year—all silhouetted. And one of those vehicles is pretty certainly the new Camaro, a 2016 model with a pointier front end and other updated exterior design tweaks. Plus, there were also some new spy photos of the new Camaro revealed, so it seems like we are pretty close to a new Camaro production model in any case.

The new Camaro was recently spotted undergoing testing in California—but soon it will be not just in the Golden State, but all over our great land.

Come see us here at Tom Naquin Chevrolet to learn more about the Camaro and the rest of these new models coming down the pike this year as well.
