Everyone loves the 2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport…

Its a lot like a love triangle.  Instead of Edward, Bella and Jacob, though, it involves Edmunds.com, the 2014 Cadillac CTS Vsport Sedan, and Tom Naquin Chevrolet Cadillac customers.  And no one gets their heart broken.

It’s nice when the expert reviewers and customers agree. For the Cadillac CTS Vsport, they line up perfectly.

Excellent Performer, “Fun To Drive”

Edmunds.com calls the 2014 CTS-V “one of GM’s best-ever sedans” and a sports car with luxury features, refined handling capability and unusual cohesiveness between brakes, chassis and thrust.

The CTS Vsport received an overall “A” rating from Edumunds.com.  Contributing to the excellent rating were grades of “A” for Performance, noting the car as a ‘truly balanced performer’.  The vehicle also received an “A” grade for the Fun To Drive category.

Even GM loves the Cadillac CTS Vsport

Of course, GM couldn’t agree more.  “These recognitions further solidify Cadillac’s continued elevation to the heart of the luxury market,” said Bill Peffer, U.S. vice president of Cadillac sales and service. “It’s gratifying to see the experts and buyers agree that Cadillac offers one of the strongest lineups available on the market.”

This isn’t the first award the Cadillac brand has received recently.  Last year, the Cadillac CTS received Motor Trends’ Car of the year, Car and Driver’s 10 Best as well as Road & Track’s 2013 Luxury Car. Earlier this month, Automobile Magazine named the car its 2014 All-Star.

Too often love triangles end tragically.  But when Edmunds.com, Cadillac CTS Vsport and drivers got together, everyone came out a winner.

Vsport Twin Turbo V6 Engine Option Extends to 2014 Cadillac XTS

If you haven’t already heard, Cadillac has brought something new – something powerful – to the luxury car game.

It is called the Vsport Twin Turbo V6 engine option.

The powertrain delivers 410-horsepower and 369 lb-ft. of torque, making it one of the most power-dense six-cylinder engines among luxury cars.

We knew that the all-new 2014 Cadillac CTS luxury performance sedan would be available in the Vsport trim.

Now the option has been extended to the all-new 2014 Cadillac XTS luxury sedan.

“The addition of the new Cadillac Twin Turbo expands and elevates the XTS luxury sedan,” said Global Cadillac Vice President Bob Ferguson. “This is a compelling enhancement to what is already one of the most technically advanced sedans in our history.”

Even standard with the 3.6-liter V6 engine that churns out 305-horsepower, the XTS features some of the best-performing technical elements like Magnetic Ride Control, Intelligent Brake Assist and CUE – all packed inside the regular car line in a single model.

Although available in the Luxury, Premium and Platinum Collections, the XTS Vsport will only be offered in the latter two trims.

Below are a few details on the unique Twin Turbo V6 engine.

  • All-new cylinder block casting
  • All-new direct injection fuel system
  • High-tumble intake port designed cylinder heads that enhance the motion of air charge for more efficient burn when mixed with direct-injected fuel and ignited in combustion chamber
  • Machined, domed aluminum pistons with top steel ring carrier for greater strength
  • Patented, integrated charge air cooler system with low-volume air ducts
  • Tuned air inlet and outlet resonators and aluminum cam covers that contribute to quietness and smoothness
  • Two turbochargers producing more than 12 pounds of boost
  • Vacuum-actuated wastegates with electronic control valves

Tom Naquin of Elkhart Indiana is excited for the Twin Turbo V6 engine to soon arrive in the greater South Bend area.

The Origin of Luxuriousness in the 2013 Cadillac XTS

One of the most attractive elements of the 2013 Cadillac XTS is its interior.

The chrome accents in the luxury sedan create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Cadillac often looks to other luxury industries like fashion and furniture for popular consumer trends in order to imitate the luxurious world in which they live every day – just on a larger scale.

So, where did Cadillac designers find the inspiration for these chrome finishes in its award-winning and most luxurious car?

Luxury watches, and their creative use of metal finishes and styling cues.

“The luxury watch industry plays with many metal finishes in its designs,” said Lead Creative Designer Marie-Camille LeCoq. “They play with matte, satin, bright chrome and aluminum in beautiful ways, so it was natural to draw influence in a way that extends into the Cadillac XTS the look and feel of the objects consumers interact with in their everyday lives.”

Large elements like the door sills and instrument panel are finished in satin chrome accents in order to contrast with the wood and leather finishes. Meanwhile, the smaller elements like air vents are finished with polished chrome.

The All-New 2014 Cadillac CTS Steps Up

With an additional five inches of length, the all-new third-generation 2014 Cadillac CTS is taking a step up from the compact luxury sedan segment to the midsize luxury sedan segment.

The extension of space is not the only element to advance for the Cadillac CTS, however.

With over 20 new standard features, the 2014 Cadillac CTS will deliver uncompromised performance, luxury and technology, according to CTS Executive Chief Engineer David Leone.

Well, perhaps everything isn’t bigger on the 2014 CTS. Its weight, for instance, is 244 pounds less than its predecessor. That makes it the lightest vehicle in its new segment. And, it sits lower and is leaner in nature.

The standard 2014 Cadillac CTS model is priced at $46,025, while the Vsport model has been set to $59,995. Both require an additional $925 destination fee.

The standard CTS is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that cranks out 272-horsepower and jets from zero to 60 a whole 1.5 seconds faster than the 2013 at 6.1 seconds.

The standard CTS claims the best braking performance in its segment with front Brembo brakes paired with ferritic-nitro carburizing (FNC) anti-corrosion rotors. It sits on 18-inch wheels and also comes standard with Magnetic Ride Control, the fastest-reacting suspensions in the world.

Drive Modes include ice, sport, snow and touring.

The Vsport hosts a 3.6-liter Twin-Turbo V6 with SAE-certified 420-horsepower. Its Magnetic Ride Control includes specific calibration and enhanced throttle progression. The Vsport features a track drive mode, an electronic slip differential and an eight-speed automatic transmission in rear-wheel drive only.

The Collection includes a Luxury, Performance and Premium option package.

The CTS is loaded with the CUE infotainment system displayed on an eight-inch fully reconfigurable touch screen in addition to a 5.7-inch instrument cluster display and eleven speakers.

Set to arrive in dealerships this fall, Tom Naquin of Elkhart Indiana cannot wait for the arrival of the 2014 Cadillac CTS.

An Even Bigger Boost to the Cadillac Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Program

The Cadillac Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Program is one of the most comprehensive of its kind within the luxury segment.

Cadillac, however, would prefer to be more than just one of the most comprehensive.

The luxury automobile manufacturer would like to be the most comprehensive.

And so it is as it covers more of its Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles than BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Lexus.

Added to the existing Cadillac Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Program will be:

  • Extended vehicle coverage to match the New-Vehicle Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty for up to six years or 70,000 miles – whichever comes first
  • Complimentary 24-hour roadside assistance
  • Courtesy transportation
  • Three-month subscription to OnStar and SiriusXM Satellite Radio

Previously exclusive to new Cadillac vehicles, Cadillac Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle owners will now be offered the Cadillac Premium Care Maintenance for 2011 and newer models.

This package covers:

  • Oil and filter changes
  • Engine air and cabin filters
  • Tire rotation
  • Multi-point inspections

Tom Naquin of Elkhart Indiana is happy to extend these additional benefits to the South Bend area owners of Cadillac Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles.
