Chevrolet Cars and Charities

Together, five Chevrolet high-performance vehicles raised $2.14 million to benefit various Detroit charities this past weekend at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale Arizona.

The First Production All-New 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C7 with a Vehicle Identification Number that ends in 0001 was sold to businessman, avid Corvette collector, and NASCAR team owner, Rick Hendrick. Proceeds will benefit the College for Creative Studies in Detroit.

The 2012 Chevrolet COPO Camaro Convertible is the last one built and the only one painted Inferno Orange Metallic. Its bid goes to the American Heart Association.

The 2013 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition is custom designed by Guy Fieri. Appropriately, proceeds will be forwarded to his Cooking with Kids program.

The 1958 Chevrolet Regal Turquoise Corvette was once owned by the Chairman and CEO of GM Dan Akerson. Its bid will be donated to the Detroit Habitat for Humanity.

The 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Convertible is the first Convertible to come off of the assembly line. One-hundred percent of the profit will be forwarded to the Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans.

2012 Chevrolet COPO Camaro Convertible Auctioned Off for American Heart Association

Chevrolet will take bids on the 2012 Chevrolet COPO Camaro Convertible in January at the 2013 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction to benefit the American Heart Association.

The 2012 Chevrolet COPO Camaro Convertible is an extremely limited edition that appeared at the 2012 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.

It is the very last, sixty-ninth of sixty-nine, 2012 Chevrolet COPO Camaros and only one of two 2012 Chevrolet COPO Camaro Convertibles.

The other 2012 Chevrolet COPO Camaro Convertible is on permanent display at a General Motors museum, not intended to drive the roads or to even be sold.

This one, however, is up for auction.

The 2012 Chevrolet COPO Camaro Convertible:

  • 4.0-liter Supercharger V8 engine delivering 550-horsepower
