SEMA Acts as Stage for Ricky Carmichael Chevrolet Colorado Concept Debut

2015 Chevy Colorado - Ricky Carmichael Chevrolet Colorado Concept If you want to create an intriguing concept car for the outrageous SEMA Show, you have to think out of the box—which is exactly what Chevrolet did this year. Rather than turning to a car expert to create its Colorado Performance Concept, the American carmaker instead looked to an expert in two-wheeled vehicles—Ricky Carmichael.

As a ten-time AMA Motocross Champion, Carmichael knows what a pickup truck needs to haul around sports equipment, so he put this knowledge to the test and created the Ricky Carmichael Chevrolet Colorado Concept.

Based on the Chevrolet Colorado crew cab with a six-foot, two-inch cargo bed, Carmichael’s concept car puts the “sport” in “sporty”. A cargo extender and GearOn system give consumers an easy way to transport bikes, both motocross and regular, while the CornerStep bumpers allow easy access while loading and unloading. A matte grey exterior enhances the trucks athletic appearance, while the silver and yellow hint at the creator’s experience on the motocross track.

While the Ricky Carmichael Chevrolet Colorado Concept isn’t available for production, you can stop in to Tom Naquin Chevrolet and personalize your own pickup to fit your needs.
